If you get stranded in your vehicle during a winter storm you should do these following things:

1. If you have a cell phone and can get either call or text message for help, do that immediately with your location.
2. Stay in your vehicle where rescuers are most likely able to find you.
3. Run the vehicle and heat every 10 minutes each hour to save gas and keep warm.
4. Keep snow clear from the vehicle exhaust pipe to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
